Privacy Policy

Mama Layla (Android and iOS) is a marketplace that connects customers with home cooks and chefs in Egypt. This policy explains what we collect, why, who sees it, and how to delete your account. By using the app you agree to this policy.

1. Data we collect

• Account: name, email, mobile number, password (hashed), account type (customer or chef). With Google Sign-In we receive your name and email from Google.
• Photos: profile and cover pictures, chefs' dish photos and stories, review photos.
• Addresses and location: delivery addresses with their map position. With your permission, your current location is used only while using the app to show nearby chefs and set an address. No background location.
• Orders and payments: order details, amounts and payment method. Card payments are processed by Paymob; we never store card data. Transfer screenshots (InstaPay/wallets) are stored privately for verification only.
• Chefs: kitchen details and location, payout account details, and the transfer receipts we send them.
• Chat and reviews: order chat messages between customer and chef, and reviews.
• "Cook with AI": the dish photo you upload and the generated recipe.
• Device and usage: push notification token (Firebase Cloud Messaging), advertising ID, and pseudonymous usage data such as screens viewed (Google Analytics for Firebase).

2. How we use it

• To fulfil orders, deliveries, payments and chef payouts.
• To verify accounts with an email code and send order notifications and emails.
• To show nearby chefs and dishes.
• For the points and rewards program, and to show ads.
• To improve the app, fix problems and prevent fraud.

3. Who sees your data

• The chef sees the customer's name and, only after payment, the phone number and delivery address needed to deliver. Phone numbers are blocked in chat.
• Service providers: Paymob (payments), Google Firebase (notifications, analytics), Google AdMob (ads), Google Maps, Google Sign-In, OpenAI ("Cook with AI") and our hosting provider — each receives only what it needs to provide its service.
• We may disclose data when required by law.
• We do not sell your data.

4. Advertising

The app shows ads from Google AdMob, which may use your device's advertising ID. You can reset it or opt out of personalized ads in your device's Google settings. See policies.google.com/technologies/ads.

5. Security and retention

Connections are encrypted (HTTPS), passwords are hashed, and receipts/screenshots are not public. We keep your data while your account exists. When you delete it, your personal data is erased; only paid order records and amounts are kept, without personal data, as required for financial records.

6. Deleting your account

• In the app: Account → Delete account.
• On the web: crm.mamalayla.app/delete-account.
• Or email us from your account's email address and we will delete it within 30 days.

7. Children

The app is not directed to children under 18 and we do not knowingly collect their data. If we learn an account belongs to a child, we delete it.

8. Changes

We may update this policy; the date above shows the latest version. Significant changes will be announced in the app.
